Military traffic endeavouring to pass in the opposite direction on the road to Brest-Litovsk in central Poland during the invasion of the country in 1939. On the left are ordinary service cars of the German Army and on the right, one of the curious coffin shaped cars bearing the white Geneva crosses on them. Russian and German forces met at Brest-Litovsk in 1939 to discuss the demarcation of invaded Poland.
