A group of German infantry riding on a 'Tiger' heavy tank, during the early stages of the 'Battle of the Bulge', December 1944. The 'Battle of the Bulge' was the last major Nazi offensive on the Western front during the Second World War and, though initially successful, resulted in major German losses. This photograph was taken by a German film unit during the German offensive. The film was then captured during the Allied counter-offensive.
