Details

Early in 1870 Gustave Flourens (1838 - 1871), tried to organise a revolution against the Emperor Napoleon, at Belleville. The attempt was not a success. Flourens later became a leading member of the Paris Commune and was killed in fighting towards the end of the Commune in April 1871.
