On a hill outside La FertÚ, in France, the grave of a Private in the Highland regiment. The rudimentary cross is made from strips of an ammunition box and has the touching inscription written in pencil, 'Killed in action. He was a good pal.'. His comrades have strewn the grave with fresh flowers, and draped the dead soldier's shell-torn coat over the cross.
