Description How submarines fire torpedoes, 1939
Details

Drawing to explain how a British submarine's twelve torpedoes are fired. Here six torpoedoes are shown in their tubes, and a further six are in storage and have, when required, to be moved up to the rear door of the tube by slinging out a running cradle. The outer (sea) doors are opened and closed by rods operated hydraulically.
