An autobiographical cartoon by Captain Bruce Bairnsfather showing how he produces his famous Fragments in France, cartoons showing life for the typical British Tommy on the Western Front during World War One. A series of sketches show Bairnsfather sketching, wrapped up warm in a trench of dug out, and then in a shelled building before, injured and convalescing in bed, he continues to draw.
