Details

Three survivors of L Battery, Royal Horse Artillery, silencing the fire of German guns in the face of overwhelming odds during the Battle of Mons. Although all wounded, these three men - Sergeant-Major Dorrell, Gunner Derbyshire, and Driver Osborne, put all but one of the German guns on the ridge out of action.
