Details	Front cover of The Illustrated London News featuring a camera portrait of Edward, Prince of Wales (later King Edward VIII and Duke of Windsor) by Hugh Cecil. The picture was featured as the Prince was about to embark on another 'empire-binding' tour around Africa. Edward was a popular figure; he sympathised with the conditions of the working class and carried out a number of tours as royal 'ambassador' during his time as Prince of Wales.
