Well known personalities who were part of the river boat party on the Thames when Sir Denis Anson and a bandsman, William Mitchell were drowned (the latter jumping into the river to try and save the former). Among those attending the inquest are Lady Diana Manners, Miss Iris Tree, Count Constantin Benckendorff (son of the Russian Ambassador), Jasper Ridley and Raymond Asquith.
