Description | Jews at the Wailing Wall |
Details |
Two Jews at the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem. The Wailing Wall, also known as the Western Wall located in the Old City of Jerusalem is a sacred place of prayer and pilgrimage for Jews. The ancient limestone wall makes up the western support wall of the Temple Mount. It is the location of the remains of the Second Temple of Jerusalem which was destroyed by the Romans in 70 CE. It is called the Wailing Wall because Jewish people are often seen crying at this site over the destruction of the temples.
