Marion Barbara Carstairs (1900 – 1993), known as Joe, but called Betty here by the Illustrated Sporting and Dramatic News, in her racing motor boat Newg II, which capsized and nearly sank In Southhampton Water during the races for the 'Detroit News' trophy.
