Julian Wyle, theatre producer known as the 'King of Pantomime' pictured on the stage of the London Hippodrome auditioning a huge number of girls for roles in the chorus. Wylie produced a number of successful revues at the Hippodrome during the 1920s. The Sketch magazine claims he had a choice of eight hundred auditionees!
