King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, with Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret, with the Marquess of Aberdeen, in the Royal Pavilion at Braemar. It was the first post-war Braemar Gathering and the wettest in memory. 25,000 spectators attended. The King and Princess Elizabeth are seen wearing the Balmoral tartan. Prince Philip of Greece, who was staying at Balmoral, came with the Royal party.
