Lady Delamere (1906 - 1979), formerly Ruth Mary Clarisse Ashley (sister of Edwina Ashley, Countess Mountbatten) wearing one of the new robes for peeresses designed by Norman Hartnell for the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953. Underneath, her dress, also by Hartnell, is of white marocain embroidered with gold pearls.
