Miss Edwina Cynthia Annette Ashley, later Lady Louis Mountbatten, Countess Mountbatten of Burma and Vicereine of India (1901-1960) pictured in the Bystander as a child. Edwina was the daughter of Mr Wilfred Ashley, MP and granddaughter of the great financier, Sir Ernest Cassel. She married Lord Louis Mountbatten in 1922.
