Details	Lady Violet Catherine Manners, Lady Charteris, Lady Elcho (1888 - 1971), second daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Rutland, wife of Captain Hugo Francis Charteris, Lord Elcho, eldest son of the Earl of Wemyss pictured with her two little sons, the Hon. Francis David Charteris (born 1912) and the Hon. Martin Michael Charles Charteris (born 1913). Lord Elcho, who held a commission with the Gloucestershire Yeomanry at the time this picture was taken, was killed in action on 23 April 1916. Francis (1912-2008) became 12th Earl of Wemyss. Violet was the sister of well-known socialite Lady Diana Manners (Lady Diana Cooper).
