Description | Lady Lavery in miniature by Alfred Praga |
Details |
A miniature portrait of Hazel, Lady Lavery, by Alfred Praga, R.B.A., president of the society of Society of Miniaturists. Lady Lavery was the wife of painter, Sir John Lavery, and a talented artist in her own right, holding the first public exhibition of her work in conjunction with her husband, at the Galleries of the Alpine Club in 1921. A well-known society beauty, Hazel knew and corresponded with a number of public figures. She is perhaps most famous as Lavery's muse and most frequent sitter.
