The Hon. Lady Quilter of Methersgate Hall, Woodbridge, Suffolk, pictured standing next to a pile of scarves, shirts and other pieces of clothing made by her cottagers and household for the troops during the early weeks of the First World War. Lady Quilter was the wife of Sir Cuthbert Quilter, Conservative M.P. for Sudbury.
