Description | Lady Violet Brassey's sons, Cyril and Gerard |
Details |
Delightful portrait of Cyril and Gerard Brassey, dressed in outfits typical of Edwardian upper class children. The older boy is in a wool jacket, similar to a Norfolk style jacket wiith matching waistcoat and breeches while the younger boy is wearing a very fanciful costume, consisting of side-buttoning tunic with flounced collar and cuffs worn with old style buckled shoes - very much in the Little Lord Fauntleroy style. Gerard, the younger one, was a 2nd Lieutenant in the Coldstream Guards and was killed in action on the 27th August 1918.
