Lady Webster, whose husband, Sir Augustus Webster, purchased Battle Abbey for £200,000, is a daughter of the late Mr. Henry Crossley of Aldborough Hall, Bedale. Sir Augustus Webster's ancestors formerly owned the abbey for a period of 130 years.
