Lieutenant General SIR EDWIN ALFRED HERVEY ALDERSON (1859 - 1927) Senior British Army officer serving in several campaigns. Placed in command of the Canadian Expeditionary Force during the first half World War One, making enemies amongst the Canadian political and military elite and suffering disastrous casualties during operations in 1915.
