Actress Lillah McCarthy pictured in a dress designed by Elspeth Phelps for the Nymphs of the Forest tableau performed at the Petticoat Lane Fair at the Albert Hall in 1917, a fundraising event for the Concerts at the Front Fund. Phelps, a leading London couturiere, conceived the idea for the tableau and designed all the costumes.
