Lily Elsie (1886 - 1962) popular theatre actress and singer an star of 'The Merry Widow'. Born Elsie Cotton in Yorkshire, Lily Elsie became the most popular actress on the London stage, and appeared at Daly's Theatre. She is pictured here at the time she was playing the role of Pamela Durham in the play 'Pamela' at the Palace Theatre in 1918.
