The skyline of London at night as the German Luftwaffe attacked the East of the city in September 1940. The glare of the fires in the East End of London is clearly evident. This sketch was made on a roof-top somewhere in the west of the City of London, with the dome of St. Pauls Cathedral (centre left) and Tower Bridge (centre right) clearly visible on the skyline.
