Lord Louis Mountbatten, as featured on the front page of the Illustrated London News, 1942, when he was made Chief of Combined Operations during World War Two. Mountbatten suceeded Roger Keynes in the role, which incorperated the rank of acting Vice Admiral and honourary ranks of Lieutenant-General and Air Marshal on March 18th 1942
