Fitzroy James Henry Somerset, 1st Baron Raglan (1788 - 1855), English field marshal shown here on horseback. He commanded an ill-prepared expeditionary force against Russia during the Crimean War of 1854-6. At Balaclava he gave the order that led to the disastrous Charge of the Light Brigade. This image is taken from the front cover of the Illustrated London News reporting the news of his death in the Crimea.
