Details

Archibald Philip Primrose, the 5th Earl of Rosebery (1847 - 1929), delivering his speech to the Liberal Party at Chesterfield, 16th December 1901. In 1894 Rosebery succeeded Gladstone, to become Liberal Prime Minister. As well as a political career, Rosebery was a devoted race-goer and horse owner, winning the Derby three times.
