Description Lowestoft bombardment - damaged buildings, 1916
Details

Damaged buildings in the bombardment of Lowestoft, including a shop and a convalescent home. A German naval squadron attacked the east coast of England early on Tuesday, 25th April 1916. The War Office report the next day stated that a convalescent home, a swimming bath, the pier and 40 dwelling hosues were extensively damaged; some 200 dwelling houses were slightly damaged. Two men, one woman and one child were killed.
