Mahatma Gandhi, Indian nationalist and spiritual leader, in a cartoon in which he is offered independence for India by King George V, while a man with a monocle (possibly Field Marshal Archibald Wavell, Viceroy of India until 1947) stands watching. All three men are wearing loincloths -- King George also wears a small crown.
