Details

Sir Philip Arthur Manley Nash (1875-1936), Major-General and mechanical engineer, Director-General of Transportation from 1917, before which time he was Deputy Director. From 1897 to 1899, Sir Philip was Locomotive Engineer to the Great Northern Railway; from 1899 to 1915 he was in India on the East Indian Railway; then later was appointed a Director of the National Filling Factories, Ministry of Munitions before taking up the role he held in 1917 and 1918.
