Rather elaborate suggestion for a fancy dress costume; Margeurite of Valois, wife of Henry IV of France. It comprises a long skirt of satin or velvet, trimmed round wtih gold or jewels, the same being carried up the front; a low pointed bodice, trimmed to match with a high ruff on wire from the shoulders. The hair is turned off the face in a double roll and NOT powdered. Finishing touches are a jewelled crown, sleeves puffed to the wrist, lace cuffs, feather fan and pointed satin shoes.
