Potentialities of mass production of flying boats as troop carriers and heavy freighter airplanes during the Second World War. A 70-ton air freighter, with a cargo capacity of 1000 tons a year on a 12,000 mile route, could be used to replace seaborne traffic and release warships from convoy duties.
