Description | Miss Margaret Whigham by Pat Charles |
Details |
Miss Margaret Whigham, later Mrs Charles Sweeney then the Duchess of Argyll (1912-1993) as the 3rd wife of the 11th Duke. Most photographed society beauty of her day. An impression of her by Pat Charles published in The Bystander magazine after her engagement to the Earl of Warwick. She didn't marry him in the end, calling off the wedding at the last minute. She went on to marry Charles Sweeny, while the Earl of Warwick married Rose Bingham who, coincidentally, is on the front cover of this particular Bystander issue!
