The 'fascinating American dancer' Mme de Kurylo, performing at the Ritz in December 1920, pictured in a spread in The Sketch magazine wearing outfits by British designer Elspeth Phelps. On the left is a tailor-made of black velour with a green waistcoat, in the middle is a jade green and nattier blue chiffon tea gown and on the right, an enchanting evening gown of black charmeuse and lace.
