Description Mock Trial - Mystery of Edwin Drood - Shaw to Chesterton
Details

A mock trial held at King's Hall, Covent Garden, London - an attempt to interpret the mystery of Charles Dickens' unfinished novel 'The Mystery of Edwin Drood'. The counsel, judge and jury concerned themselves with such questions as: "Did Jasper murder his nephew?" and "Who was Datchery?". The Judge was the writer G. K. Chesterton (1874-1936) and he is being addressed by Irish playwright George Bernard Shaw (1856-1950), who was part of the jury.
