Description | Moving Post Office in Worcestershire 1909 |
Details |
Ombersley in Worcestershire had a service were a travelling bus with a post box fixed to the rear, when passing two or three times daily you could post your letters, instead of you having to go six miles to Worcester. The driver of the bus blows a shrill blast on his whistle, immediately a Post Office official comes out with a key in hand and in less time than it takes to tell it the box is cleared.
