Details	Mr and Mrs Charles Sweeny attending the eighth annual Horseshoe Ball in aid of the International League for the Protection of Horses at Stanhope Gate. Mrs Charles Sweeny (1912-1993) was the former Miss Margaret Whigham and later the Duchess of Argyll, whose scandalous divorce case with her second husband plunged her into disgrace and penury.
