Details |
Mr A. Ford appearing in the arena of the London Hippodrome where he finally came to a stop after completing a record-breaking non-stop drive of 2,390 miles between Liverpool, Brighton, Perth and London. Here, the engine that had been running continuously for 204 hours came to a stop and Fred Trussell, manager of the Hippodrome, gave the audience, many of whom were well-known motorists, a brief account of the run. Finally, Mr. H. Rawlinson, a director of the Darracq Company, presented Mr Ford with a brand new car as recognition of his achievements. The photograph gives a good view of the Hippodrome's vast auditorium.
