Mrs Ernest A. (Wallis) Simpson. She had recently obtained a divorce, and her name was increasingly being connected with King Edward VIII. She would eventually become the Duchess of Windsor when Edward abdicated the throne in order to marry her. This edition of The Sketch is dated two days before the abdication.
