Description | Mrs Vernon (Irene) Castle |
Details |
IRENE CASTLE (nee FOOTE) Dancer, with her husband Vernon Castle known as 'America's Dancing Sweethearts'. The pair were incredibly successful and their earnings were high. And as a leader of fashion, Irene lent her name to a variety of hats, lace, dresses and toiletries bearing her name. Pictured here on the front cover of The Sketch magazine wearing a strikingly original head-dress designed by her and worn in a film-play entitled 'Patria,' and example, the magazine reports, on her flair for the unconventional.
