The Army: Munitions, please, as quick as possible.
John Bull: Munitions? Oh, I suppose you want them for the war? Well, we've not noticed much demand for them, but we'll have some made for you. You've got nice weather for your fighting just now.
A comment on the munitions scandal which broke in May 1915 and revealed that there were not enough munitions for the Army, leading to military failure at the Front.
