Description | Murray's at Maidenhead, 1923 |
Details |
Illustration of a couple at a table at Murray's, the Maidenhead 'branch' of the Beak Street nightclub run by Jack May. The summer club opened around May and attracted fashionable society who travelled out of town to enjoy the picturesque surroundings and the underlit, outdoor glass dancefloor. The venue was magically lit by numerous fairy lights, evidence of which can be seen here.
