Music cover, The Piccolomini Waltz, from Verdi's opera La Traviata, as performed at Almack's and the Court Balls. Marietta Piccolomini (1834-1899) was the first soprano to achieve international acclaim in the role of Violetta. Depicting a scene from the opera, with a fainting Violetta, Alfredo having insulted her at a ball by flinging his gambling winnings at her feet.
