Napoleon at Grenoble. On March 7th, 1815, returning from Elba, with the royal troops sent to arrest him, he walked directly up to the troops on the 'Prairie de la Rencontre' exclaiming: 'Soldiers, if any one among you who would kill his Emperor, here I am'... On hearing this, the company exclaimed, 'Long live the Emperor! '.
