A type of small allied naval dirigible used as an air scout for tracking enemy submarines which can be seen under water in clear, calm weather. A dirigible can attack a submarine by dropping bombs on it. A scouting aircraft, provided it has wireless apparatus, on sighting a submarine at once communicates with the patrol boats.
