The smart naval engagement off Heligoland: the destruction of German light cruisers and torpedo boats, shown in a series of drawings made from sketches by an eye witness. 1. The submarines and the Fearless act as decoys. 2. The bait accepted: the German flotillas come out in chase. 3. The melee -- the German light cruisers and torpedo boats engaged at close quarters by the British flotillas. 4. The end of the action -- German light cruisers and destroyers put out of action -- battle cruisers shown on right. Four portraits of Royal Navy officers involved: Rear-Admiral Sir David Beatty, Lieutenant Nigel Barttelot, Commodore Keyes and Commodore Tyrwhitt.
