Description | New style jumper - 1919 ladies' clothing advertisement |
Details |
Advertisment for the new style jumper in cashmere available from Greensmith Downes & Son of George Street, Edinburgh. During the 1920s, the popularity of the 'jumper' increased, at first in a kind of tunic form before gradually evolving into the kind of jumper we recognise today. It was part of a move towards more casual, sports-influenced dressing in the post-WWI era.
