Warrant Officer Norman Cyril Jackson(1919-1994), Victoria Cross winner, as he appeared in the Illustrated London News, 1945. As a flight sergeant, Jackson was decorated for conspicous bravery, when, inspite of his wounds, he climbed out onto the fuselage of his Lancaster Bomber while on a mission over Schweinfurt, to put out a fire started by an enemy fighter near the petrol tank.
