Description North Shore cotton mill on fire, Liverpool
Details

Destruction of the North Shore cotton mill at Liverpool in May 1853. The mill, on the banks of the canal near Vauxhall Road, was the only cotton factory in Liverpool and employed 1000 people. It was totally destroyed by the fire.
