Six war artists at work, filmed for the Two Cities' film "Out of Chaos" - aimed at generating interest in the National Gallery War Artists' Exhibition, but also in modern painting generally. (from top left - clockwise): Stanley Spencer sketches on Clydeside, Paul Nash at the vast mound of German plane salvage known as Cowley Dump, Art Critic Eric Newton, Leonard Roseman, Graham Sutherland working among the debris of bombed London buildings and Sir Kenneth Clark who set up the War Artists' Advisory Committee.
